All students are required by the New York State Education Department (NYSED) to take the Test of Adult Basic Education (TABE), which establishes a student's current grade level performance. After grade level is being determined, the readiness assessment evaluates strengths and weaknesses and then instruction is developed around the specific needs of the student. Instruction is offered on an individual basis in both large and small groups.
The high school TASC prep program is for students 19 years and older. The program is open to students who have not graduated from high school and have not accumulated adequate Regents credit.
The TASC test is aligned to the NYS Common Core Standards. The exam covers multiple subjects - Math, Writing, Reading, Social Studies, and Science, and takes two days to complete. Test accommodations are available, if needed, with appropriate IEP documentations.
